The 1980s saw Trola Industries diversify its services to include installation, calibration, and 24-hour emergency repair, while centering its product offerings around the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), complemented by an IBM PC-based local operator station introduced in 1985. The company developed a particular specialty in “Sequential” control, intrinsic to “batch” processing systems, which led to a deep market expertise and recognition as a vertical specialist in industries that demand such control systems.
